Employment Visa E7 is a work visa for foreigners who wants to work with the required qualifications for the certain occupations appointed by the Department of Justice of Korea.

The Categories of Employment Visa E7

The E7 applicants or the employers should submit a Letter of Employment Explanation and an Employment Recommendation Letter issued by the
Korean Government, KOTRA, or Small and Medium Business Corporation, Depending on the categories of E7.

The Requirements of Employment Visa E7

The Requirements of Employment Visa E7 are divided into Employee Requirement (Applicant) and Employer Requirement (Company).

1. Employee Requirement (Applicant)

  • (1) A Master Degree in the fields related to the applied occupation or
  • (2) A Bachelor Degree in the fields related to the applied occupation with at min. 1 year work experience or
  • (3) Min. 5 years work experience related to the applied occupation.

2. Employer Requirement (Company)

  • (1) Requirement of Foreign Employment Ratio : 20% of Korean employees.
  • (2) Salary Requirement
    • E7-1 : min. 80% of GNI (KRW42,590,000 for 2024 year)
    • Others : Minium Salary (Monthly Salary KRW2,060,000 for 2024 year)
  • (3) Tax Payment Requirement : No delinquency in Taxes

The Procedure of Employment Visa E7 is (1) Preparation of Employment Contract (2) Submission of Invitation Application (3) Entry of the E7
applicant (4) Application of Foreigner Registration Card.

    Why is your Employment Visa E7 not issued or not permitted ?

    1. Employment Visa E7 visa is issued or permitted under normal condition. Your E7 Visa application is not issued or rejected due to one of the following problem below.
      1. 1. if your company fails to explain sufficiently the necessity of your Employment in the Letter of Employment,
      2. 2. if the occupation code for E7 application is incorrectly selected,
      3. 3. if the requirement of you or your company is insufficient,
      4. 4. if your Employment Reason is not matched with the current status of
      5. the company in an On-Site Inspection or
      6. 5. if you or your company is imposed a penalty in violation of the Laws.

    Can my company submit an E7 application if my company hires 4 Korean employees only ?

    1. Your company can hire 1 foreign worker on E7 visa if your company hires 5 Korean workers, provided that the E7 quota is granted in the range of 20% of the Korean workers. However, your company may apply to E7 quota in the range of 50% of Korean workers, depending on the company situation or company status.

    Should I submit both the recommendation letter of employment and the Letter of Employment for my E7 application ?

    1. Those are required only for some designated jobs. However, we suggest you to prepare two documents as well as a Business Plan for utilizing the foreign worker to facilitate your E7 visa process as well as to be exempted from On-Site Inspection of the Immigration.

    1. All foreign documents such as Degree Certificate, career certificates, etc. must be attached Apostille or Consular Confirmation from the Korean Embassy.
